Libby Day's background in visual design work has spanned more than 18 years, After time spent working within the U.K and penultimately New York, she returned to where she had been born & raised - amidst the inspiring landscape of Grampian of Scotland.
In furthering her passion for art & design, she completed a first class honors degree in Three Dimensional Design at Robert Gordon University. Since graduating in 2008 she successfully set up her own studio practice - winning many prestigious awards for her work and exhibiting locally and internationally.
Libby has developed a unique signature style. With a keen interest in architectures and scale, she creates contemporary interior and jewelry pieces using precious metals - developing a portion of her existing work to include wood, plastics, glass, and textiles.
Her hand constructed concept pieces become the inspiration for her product designs - where she uses her expertise and knowledge of materials and techniques within manufacturing to explore new possibilities.
Day began using new technologies such as: laser, water-jet cutting, and 3D printing, in 2007. Much of the aesthetic of her work lends itself to these technologies and methodologies..
Much of her inspiration stems from natural and built surroundings, often the point where nature and man meet.
Day has recently relocated from Scotland to the United States, continuing with projects which include commissions, collaborations, contract design work, and digital media.
